We all want to make a difference in the world, and something that many people don’t realize is that they can do it! We can all contribute to the welfare of the planet, from our global perspective.
We usually see how people say ‘an individual change is not going to contribute,’ but oh boy, it sure does.
There are a lot of habits, customs, and changes that we can implement into our lives to improve our planet earth and consequently, all people, animals, and living beings that inhabit it.
To encourage you and see that making a change is very simple and easy, here are a series of ways in which you can contribute to the preservation of the planet and environment.
1) Reusable Bags and Beverage Containers Are the Way to Go!
You would be surprised and deeply saddened if you knew how much plastic from disposable bags and bottles ends up in the ocean.
Many animals confuse plastic with food, which causes significant problems in their environment.
If you carry reusable bags and beverage containers when you go shopping for groceries, you’ll make a significant change, helping preserve the oceans, as well as assisting the conservation of animals such as sea turtles.
In the case that you have to use plastic bags, keep them for reuse later when you go to buy fruits, vegetables, or legumes.

2) The Way You Transport Yourself Is Essential for the Environment
Alright. We are not asking you to stop using your car permanently. Many people must use their vehicles daily because they work far from home or need to do other tasks.
However, if you live relatively close to where you work, consider using public transportation or even using a bicycle to get to your job! The same applies to any destination that is close to your home.
Even if you stop using your car for only two days a week, you will be reducing the pollution you produce up to 30%.
3) Think Smarter About Your Energy and Use It Wisely
Using energy more sustainably is not only good for the environment but also your pocket.
You can start with something simple, such as energy-efficient lightbulbs. And of course, unplug computers, TVs, and all the electronic devices you can when you’re not using them.

4) Buy Second Hand, Buy Local Products, Buy Seasonal
The purchase of local and second-hand products is beneficial for the local economy and your pocket. You’ll be supporting local farmers and producers who work hard to provide your community with a great natural product.
Besides, today, many second-hand stores focus on fashion, accessories, and all kinds of things. This can help you upgrade your style for way less money, and keep the environment happy!
5) What You Eat Matters
You don’t have to be vegetarian or vegan. Meat is an integral part of the diet of many people, but excessive consumption of meat can be harmful to your health and the environment.
You can start with one meat-free day a week, so that you can think of new foods that you have not tried before, and explore different flavors that do not come from the meat.
6) Recycle More
None of your friends is an expert in recycling, but the truth is that recycling is quite easy. Just put the garbage where it goes.
Have you ever gone to the supermarket and seen a product that has excessive packaging? Avoid these types of products, since they produce a lot of unnecessary waste, and it’s easier to recycle!

7) Speak Your Mind
Every day more and more people are interested in knowing how they can contribute to the conservation of the environment.
There are activists, vegetarians or simply people who make a small change that adds a lot to the well-being of all the people on the planet.
Each change and small contribution can significantly help us all live in harmony.

Your Help Counts Too!
Planet Earth is the only thing that all human beings have in common. It is our home, and it has been for many years.
If we want the earth to remain our home, we must act, to a lesser or greater extent, but we must act. Humans are not the only living beings that inhabit the planet; there are also animals, plants, and many ecosystems that have been here long before us.
Let us contribute what we can for the conservation of life on earth, and every day try to make the world a better place.
