This course takes 81 contact hours, and the payments are divided into two sections:
- $2,050 for general registration
- $1,750 Rutgers School of Nursing Faculty, Students, Preceptors and Alumni
It also has a non-refundable deposit required of $500.
The didactic portion is completely online, and its next course starts on November 29, 2023, and must be completed by December 30, 2023.
The clinical portion will take place over 4 days in January 2024.

Montgomery Colelge’s course has three different formats, all designed for RNs and LPNs who desire to maintain or re-establish their active license.
You can take the classes for 100 hours on:

And lastly, you have Nursing Refresher Clinical for 60 hours of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, which includes patient assignments, teamwork, completing documentation and care plans, and giving medication.
However, keep in mind that orientation sessions are mandatory for the three of them.

- Inactive out-of-state license Maryland nursing license
- Maryland compact license
- Your RN or LPN license has to be activated with a current expiration date, indicating that it is in an active and valid state

For UNC-Chapel Hill course, there are two different options to enroll in:
Option one is the Theory Course and Clinical Practicum, which is ideal for a registered nurse who lives in North Carolina and has had a lapsed or inactive license from any of the fifty states for five years or more.
This first option has 140 contact hours, which is equivalent to 14 continuing education units (CEUS).
The second option is the Theory Course Only which is ideal for registered nurses who wish to review, expand, or update their knowledge base in the field of medical-surgical nursing.
In this case, living in North Carolina is not required.
The cost for them are:
- Administrative fee: $125
- Theory Course and clinical practicum: $1,000
- Clinical Practicum placement fee: $250
- Theory Course for Digital and Lifelong Learning: $1,000
